The Perfect Spiced Apple Cider Recipe for Fall

Cozy, sweet, and a little unexpected — this mulled cider blends the warmth of fall with the brightness of pineapple. Perfect for sipping fireside or serving at your next gathering.

Time:

  • Prep: 1-3 mins

  • Cook: 20–30 min

  • Total: 23–33 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon apple cider

  • 3-4 cups pineapple juice (the secret ingredient)

  • 4-5 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 star anise (optional, for a hint of licorice warmth)

  • 1 fresh orange, washed and sliced

  • a few whole cloves (the more the merrier!)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • A dash of vanilla extract

  • A splash of lemon juice for balance

  • Fresh cranberries or apple slices for garnish

  • Red wine for a spiked version

Directions:

  1. In a medium pot, combine the apple cider and pineapple juice.

  2. Add orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.

  3. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat (don’t boil).

  4. Reduce heat and let it simmer uncovered for 20–30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

  5. Strain (if preferred) or serve directly from the pot, garnishing with fresh fruit or cinnamon sticks, if desired.

Enjoy!

With Love,
Ambyr
