Last year, I hosted a cookie exchange and decided to try Martha Stewart’s Holiday Punch. One sip, and I was instantly transported — not to a fancy soirée, but straight back to the fellowship hall of my childhood church.
There was always a ruby red punch waiting after special services.
Always chilled.
Always fizzy.
Always served in those little plastic cups that somehow made everything taste better.
And right beside it? Sister Kathy’s fried chicken — the standard of all fried chicken in my life to this very day. The punch was sweet, bright, and joyful, and it carried this sense of celebration that didn’t need fancy décor or matching glassware. It was community in a cup.
This recipe brings back that same spirit, but in a more grown-up way — the nostalgic base flavors with a splash of Triple Sec, Tequila, citrus, and cranberry ice cubes that melt into the glass as the gathering goes on. It’s festive, it’s nostalgic, and it’s dangerously easy to refill.
Whether you’re hosting a party, setting up for Christmas morning, or just want something joyful to sip after the tree is lit, this holiday punch is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. And once you taste it… you’ll understand exactly why Martha inspired me to bring it into my own traditions.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Assembly Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 24 hours
Serves: 12-15 servings
Ingredients
2 cups chilled unsweetened pomegranate juice
1 cup chilled cranberry juice
1 cup (8 oz) tequila
1 cup (8 oz) Triple Sec or other orange liqueur
1 cup chilled club soda
½ cup fresh lemon juice (2–3 lemons)
½ cup simple syrup*
Cranberries frozen in ice cubes
Instructions
Stir all ingredients in a large pitcher or punch bowl.
Add cranberry ice cubes just before serving (make these the night before using an ice mould).
Serve in coupe glasses, punch cups, or over ice.
Garnish with rosemary, orange peel, or a few extra cranberries.
Ice Cube Mould/ Mold - Out of all the moulds I’ve tried, I love this one the most! It gives me perfect round spheres every time! If you use this, make your ice the night before. Simply add 1-2 cranberries in each section and pour water over top.
Tip: Tap water will yield cloudy results. Filtered water yields clear spheres.
Coupe Glasses - You can use any glasses you have but I love these Amazon coupe dupes for an elevated look. My original glasses are from Home Goods.
Fresh Cranberries - These are excellent for decorating the glasses, in addition to the cranberry ice cubes, but I also love stringing them on garland as decor throughout the Christmas season.
Fresh Rosemary - The perfect garnish! Make sure to give them a good rinse before assembling your cups.
Tip: Pat dry after rinsing and rub between your palms to wake up the flavor!
Enjoy Friends!
With Love,
Ambyr
