The Fall Simmer Pot Collection

A beautiful home doesn’t always need something new.

The fruit from the farmers market. The rosemary growing beside the herb garden. The Paris tea I’ve been drinking all year whenever I want to feel a little cozier. The cardamom pods sitting on my counter for the Dutch apple pie I promised my husband I’d make.

These are the things that became this collection.

I love the idea that we don’t always have to go out and buy something new to mark a season or make an ordinary day feel special. Sometimes what we need is already tucked into the pantry, sitting in the fruit bowl or growing just outside the door. Put a few of those things into a pot of water, turn the stove down low, and suddenly the house feels different.

I spent a few fall afternoons playing with what I already had—adding something, taking something away, walking outside and coming back in to see what I could actually smell. Eventually, three became keepers.

Apple + Vetiver is the warm one. Apples, cinnamon and the cardamom waiting for that pie, grounded with a few drops of vetiver. It smells unapologetically like apple pie in the kitchen.

Pear + Bay started with a pear and some herbs and became the surprise of the three. A little vanilla was all it needed to turn soft, green and quietly romantic—the kind of scent you notice when you leave the room and wander back in.

Rosemary & Paris brings together two things that already have a place in my home: rosemary and the tea I reach for again and again. With a little fresh ginger, it becomes earthy and fragrant and completely lovely. And before it settles in for the afternoon, you can pour yourself a cup.

That’s really what this collection is about. Using what is already part of your life to make a little more of the life you’re living now.

Save the three recipe cards to your phone or print them for the kitchen. Start with the recipes as I’ve written them, then look around and see what you already have.
