My Simple Christmas Menu: Breakfast, Dinner, Dessert & Holiday Ease
A realistic plan for getting through Christmas with ease
I know what everyone’s thinking — Christmas is just three days away.
If you’re scrambling to figure out what to make for the day (or wondering how it’s all going to come together), no worries. I’ve got you!
Most of what I’m sharing here lives in my Holiday Catalogue already, but I wanted to pull everything together in one simple place — breakfast, dinner, dessert, and the little moments in between.
Every recipe here is tried, tested, and genuinely mouth-watering — and it’s exactly what I’ll be making this year.
Think comforting, doable, unintentionally IG-worthy, and designed to help the day feel calm and memorable.
Ok, let’s get into it!
My Simple Christmas Menu
Breakfast
8:00 AM
Cinnamon Rolls - for that nostalgic feel first thing Christmas morning. Later in the AM, we’ll have my husband’s famous breakfast tacos.
Beverages: Coffee & tea while opening Christmas stockings
8:45 AM-12:00 PM
Rest!
Lunch
12:00 PM
Nothing ;) because we’ll be stuffed from breakfast and need a break before an early dinner…around 3:45 pm or so.
But this is where I’ll start the short ribs since they’ll need to cook for about 3 hours.
Braised Short Ribs - main entrée
12:45-3:00 PM
Rest!
Dinner
3:00 PM
Take the short ribs out. While the meat rests, I’ll whip up the following:
Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Chives - side dish # 1
Herb-Roasted Carrots & Broccolini - side dish # 2
3:30-3:45 PM
Dinner is served!
Beverages: Red wine, chilled water & apple juice (for Wessie)
5:30-7:30 PM
Rest!
Dessert
7:30 PM
If there’s “space” at this time, we’ll have dessert! If not, we’ll push the time back.
FYI — I always make my pies the night before so there’s nothing to do on Christmas Day.
Dutch Apple Galette turned Pie - easier than you think and served warm with vanilla ice cream.
Beverages: Chilled sparkling water, coffee & warm milk (for Wessie)
Closing
If any part of this menu speaks to you, I hope you’ll peek through the recipes and adapt whatever feels good — simplify where you need to, linger where you can, and make it your own.
Wherever this post finds you — celebrating, remembering, or somewhere in between — I hope it meets you gently.
We’ll be lighting candles for the ones we so dearly miss, carrying them with us in the quiet moments and the joyful ones, too. ♥️
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of Holidays!
With Love,
Ambyr
