A Self-Care Sunday Reset & The Easiest Rolling Cart Glow Up
From Diaper Duty to Spa Duty: How I Gave My Rolling Cart a Second Act
Listen, I’m team soft life and balance these days.
It’s not that those things weren’t important before — I think I just struggled to build a life around them because I was so busy… you know, adulting.
But when I decided to embrace summer differently this year (read the post here if you missed it), it started with one simple shift: being outside more. That small change got me thinking — what’s the easiest way to bring what’s already happening inside… outside?
Enter: my beloved rolling cart.
We originally bought three of these when our son was born, because running up and down three levels of stairs for diapers or wipes was a firm no. But now that he’s older and we don’t need baby supplies in arm’s reach anymore, I figured it might be time to give the cart a second act.
And honestly? All it took was a light sanding with a nail file (yes, really 🤣) and a few coats of spray paint.
That’s the thing I love about working with what you already have — it doesn’t take much to make something feel new again.
From there, I just style the cart based on whatever I need that day.
Today was all about a Self-Care Sunday reset. I wanted to feel like I had a little spa moment, so I grabbed the cart, pulled a few favorites from the bathroom, and set it up right next to my yoga mat on the balcony.

This is the time I normally journal and stretch very early — before the baby wakes up and the house comes alive. Having this little setup ready makes the whole thing feel so much more intentional, but still really simple.
What I love most is that it felt like I took care of myself before taking care of anyone else. I honored that quiet part of the day, even if it was just for 20 minutes.
And honestly, you don’t even need a rolling cart to do this.
For years, I used a big wicker tray, lit a candle, and created a self-care moment, using similar items, wherever I was. But since I’m outside more this summer, the cart just made sense — and it made me feel really cared for.
Sometimes it’s not about doing more. It’s about doing the same things… in a softer way.
I hope this inspires you to look around and give something old a second win — especially if it helps you show up for yourself first. ♥️
With Love,
Ambyr
